This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. The EIB offers you the opportunity to live and work in a truly international and multi-cultural environment. We also offer relocation support.
The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Corporate Services Directorate – Group Digital Office (GCS-GDO), Business Solutions Department (BSD), Lending Division (LD) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, (Senior) Squad Leaders (Product Manager)*.
These are two full-time positions at grade 5/6 for which the EIB offers a permanent contract.

Purpose
You will lead and manage a software development team responsible for the design and implementation of a software product providing solutions to business needs in digitalization such as lending processes and client portal to streamline the EIB lending and enhance the client experience.
Operating Network
You will report to the Head of the Unit and will work in close contact with the unit’s Squad Leaders and Software Engineers.
What will you do?
- Drive the software product’s strategy and roadmap in collaboration with business stakeholders, while leading a software development team to meet business goals and ensure user satisfaction
- Coordinate a team, including functional analysts, software engineers, and quality assurance engineers, to fulfill project-specific tasks, assign roles based on expertise, and foster a high-performing and continuously improving team dynamic
- Ensure the product’s direction is consistently aligned with the strategic objectives
- Oversee and facilitate business analysis activities alongside business analysts, stakeholders, and external consultants, aiming to create application specifications that meet business requirements
- Oversee maintenance and support activities, either personally or through external teams, to deliver superior service to both internal and external clients
- Promote integration of DevSecOps and agile methodologies to ensure the team regularly delivers value to the business
- Take responsibility for the analysis, design, implementation, and testing of business functionalities within your team’s remit
- Establish and closely monitor key performance indicators to gauge success and areas for improvement
- Actively disseminate information, share knowledge, and promote a culture of compliance with IT policies, procedures, and guidelines among all staff members
Qualifications
- University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor) preferably in preferably in computer science or related disciplines
- At least 5 years of relevant professional working experience, preferably managing software development teams and projects or as software analyst / software developer,
- Good experience in traditional development software development (e.g., Java/.NET)
- Experience with low code technologies such as PEGA or OutSystems will be an advantage
- Experience in the financial and/or public institution sectors will be an advantage
- Good understanding of Agile and DevSecOps principles and practices
- Experience with software development lifecycle including the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications
- Understanding of lending products and lending contracts lifecycle would be an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (*), with a good command of the other. (Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage).

(*) Unless stated explicitly as a required qualification, a good command of French is not a pre-requisite for hire. As both English and French are however official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both languages is a pre-requisite for your future career development. Any language clause in your contract must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible for a promotion (either via the annual appraisal cycle or via an internal selection process). Proficiency is understood to mean the attainment of level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses, corresponding to B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL). The Bank offers appropriate training support.
