About This Opportunity 

Leading the technical workstream of the HCMS program, the Senior Technical Integration Manager will be responsible for working with the selected vendor’s implementation team, the internal program team and UQ’s Information Technology Service’s (ITS) team to ensure the effective and timely delivery of multiple technical related deliverables.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the management of all technical aspects of the HCMS program lifecycle including planning, design/development, delivery, and transition to BAU, ensuring milestones and other deadlines are met.
  • Oversee technical aspects of the HCMS program including infrastructure, security protocols, custom development requirements, seamless integration to existing UQ platforms, integration via interfaces, etc.
  • Manage the technical team to ensure day-to-day operational efficiency and the goals of the program.
  • Collaborate and maintain a productive working relationship with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, 3rd party suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of the new systems with other enterprise applications including Workday.
  • Provide quality management throughout the program, ensuring that relative to the triple constraints of time, cost and quality, quality is not forfeited in relation to meeting the needs of end users or the University.
  • Manage program risks, including updating of the program risk management register and ensuring that mitigation measures are actioned / escalated as required.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for up to 31 December 2025.

At HEW level 9, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $127,496 – $134,829, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $149,171 – $157,750 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.

About You  

We are looking for an exceptional and experienced Technical Integration Manager who has:

  • Significant experience with implementing multiple ERP software suites (e.g. Workday) and working on IT projects that include delivery from both third-party implementation partners and internal resources.
  • Technical experience in an expert level role supporting and delivering integrated solutions. Utilising and integrating with public cloud solutions stack, particularly Microsoft Azure platform.
  • Excellent organisational skills with demonstrated ability to manage large projects and people effectively against differing timelines/changing priorities.
  • The ability to analyse and interpret detailed and complex technical information to ensure well informed decisions throughout the lifecycle of a program.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability, with the ability to negotiate, demonstrate diplomacy and tact, and effectively build relationships with a diverse group of senior stakeholders, colleagues, and staff.
  • Excellent people management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, mentor, and lead a team of staff in a complex environment with deadlines and tight timelines.
  • Demonstrated high level of accuracy and attention to detail and quality and timeliness of completed work, including written reports and presentations.
  • Ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated, combined with a high level of initiative, drive, and enthusiasm. Strong work ethics and willingness to go the extra mile to accomplish tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in the higher education sector and implementing HCM ERP solutions including Workday will be highly regarded.
  • Extensive experience in implementing change in a large and devolved organisation and leading projects that require significant change management practices embedded into project delivery.
