This is a Limited Term (LT) position and may be extended up to 24 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. If becoming permanent, the selected candidate must have eligibility for a permanent appointment at the time of the LT appointment or at the time of the conversion.

The Division of Drinking Water is recruiting for a Senior Water Resource Control Engineer (Specialist) to work in the Program Management Branch, Technical Operations Section. The position will be located at one of the Division of Drinking Water’s field offices:

Under the general direction of a Supervising Water Resources Control Engineer in the Technical Operations Section, the incumbent will perform varied and complex technical, engineering, and analytical tasks.

Duties:

The Senior Water Resource Control Engineer (Specialist) (Senior WRCE) will perform the most complex and technical engineering assignments. The Senior WRCE is expected to work independently, communicate effectively, and manage multiple tasks. Daily proficient utilization of office equipment and the Microsoft Office Suite is required. The Senior WRCE will maintain consistent and regular attendance, communicate effectively (orally and in writing) in dealing with the public and/or other employees; develop and maintain knowledge and skill related specific tasks, methodologies, materials, tools, and equipment; complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner; and adhere to departmental policies and procedures regarding attendance, leave, and conduct.

Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the ability to perform the assigned duties of the class.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.

Pay: $11,104.00 – $13,898.00 per month
