Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer (Civil/Stormwater) to be based in Seattle, Washington. The successful candidate will be responsible for high quality project delivery, with a focus on managing services for water resources engineering (civil/stormwater). Unique expertise on specific technologies or processes, application of acquired expertise and knowledge to solve business challenges, and the ability to provide coaching to peers and team members is critical.

Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Proven experience in water resources engineering (civil/stormwater) from planning to modeling to permitting to detailed design and construction supervision.

  • Project management (including client management), technical proposal and report writing.

  • Team management, including supervision and/or mentoring.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and iteratively within a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Hydrologic, hydraulic, and stormwater modelling

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of demonstrated experience with hydrologic, hydraulic, and stormwater concepts, principles, and models (e.g., SWMM, HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and SRH2D)

  • Professional Engineering License

  • Preparation of site civil design and grading for stormwater management and other water resources engineering projects (e.g., flood control, drainage, culverts, bridges, wastewater, landfills)

  • Excellent report writing and ability to clearly present complex technical information visually and orally to a wide audience

  • Experienced in technical project delivery (from bid preparation/drafting technical proposals to project management)

  • Track record of project management

  • Ability to coordinate, liaise, and engage with clients and key stakeholders

  • Provide mentoring, guidance, and technical advice to support junior staff

  • Ability to work with a team consisting of several technical disciplines

  • Strong relations and work history with clients throughout the Pacific Northwest and ability to leverage existing relationships to grow the business

  • Professional Engineer in Washington (or ability to obtain PE license within 6 months of hire)

  • Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D/Microstation and ArcGIS

  • Understanding of federal, state and local regulatory and permitting processes typically required to implement a stormwater management and other water resources/civil projects

Additional Information

  • Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation in Washington will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $100,000 – $150,000
