Scope of Work

TheIRCwillestablishacommunityofpractice(CoP)tosupporttheskillsofwomen’sorganizationsandnetworks, and members oftheGBV subcluster toprovideevidence- based interventionsforGBVpreventionand response. TheWPECoPManager,willtrain,assist,andprovidetechnicalGBVsupervisiontoIRCandpartnerstaffand women’snetworksinMyanmar.TheCoPManagerwilldevelopcapacitybuildingplanswiththeCoPandsupport theirimplementationthroughtrainingandcoachingtoensurestronginstitutionalcapacityandknowledgeon GBVprevention and response.

ThispositionwillbebaseinYangonoffice,withfrequenttraveltoprogramlocationsincludingbutnotlimitedto Northern Shan,Rakhine,Kachin and Southeast. This positionreportsto WPE Roving Specialist.

Main Responsibilities

  • Identify womenrights organizationsandestablishthecommunity of practice(CoP).
  • Conductworkshops withwomen rights organizationswhich will includethedevelopmentof frameworksfor capacitydevelopment, quality assurance, andprojectaction plan.
  • Identifytrainingneedsandgapswithinthe CoPand develop plansto raise their technicalandprogram implementation capacity.
  • Implement capacity plansthrough training,coachingandclose supervision.
  • Oversee anddeliverGBVprevention andresponse training to CoP members in collaborationwiththe WPETraining ManagerandRoving Coordinator.
  • Check inwitheach sub-organization quarterly and provide required individualsupervision andcapacity-building support.
  • Be availablefor intensiveone-on-onetechnical support tocoach, model, andmonitor interventions. Provide guidance andtechnical support toCoPmembersthroughregular field visits.
  • Strengthenknowledge of CoPmembersoncase managementandGBVguidingprinciples to protect survivorsin GBV case management.
  • Support CoPmemberstoimplementbehavior change curriculums such asGirl Shine,EngagingMen in AccountablePractice (EMAP), and SASA.
  • CollaboratewiththeCoPtocontextualizetheGBVminimumstandardspackagefortheMyanmar context.
  • Support CoPmembersintheir planningandutilization of the CoPsupport fundsto implementGBV programming.
  • Coordinate withtheGBV Sub-Cluster, partners, and CoP memberstoensuretechnical quality and evidence-basedpractice.
  • Withtechnicalstaff, developa packageforIRC subgrantee partnersthat contributestoimprovingtheir technical andprogram managementskills.
  • Support thedevelopment oftechnicalmaterialstosupport qualityprogramming(e.g. factsheet, manuals, guidelines, IEC).
  • Reinforce adherencetotheGBV guidingprinciplesandother international standardsto ensure quality ofdesign and implementation ofall WPE activities.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out followingIRC Operational policies
  • Providetrainingon IRC’sClinical Management ofRape Trainingpackagetogetherwith the HealthTeam. Contribute to SRHR andGBV-relatedaspects for comprehensive,quality CMR servicesfor survivors.
  • Providetechnicalcapacitybuildingforsub-grantWPEpartnerstoensurethedeliveryofCMRservices through propercoordination and systematic referral.
  • Assist theGBVrovingcoordinator indeveloping Myanmarscountry-specificWPE and SRH strategy.
  • Co-facilitatinginWPE trainingasnecessary and assignedby thesupervisor.
  • Submit CoP improvementand relatedactivity reports regularlyto WPECoordinators.
  • Other dutiesas assigned/requestedbythesupervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

What should you have?  

Education

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science in Social Science, Public Health, Humanities or other related field At least 3 to 5 years of professional experience in NGOs

Experiences

  • Strong experience coordinating with CSOs and NGO partners.
  • Strong experience facilitating trainings, workshops and mentoring others.
  • Strong GBV technical knowledge and experience implementing service delivery in Myanmar.
  • Strong ability to organize work, coordinate multiple tasks, meet deadlines, work in a professional environment, work under pressure, and work within a multi-cultural team
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders including partner organizations.

Competencies

  • Excellent facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse national and international staff.
  • Willingness to participate and contribute as a team member, under challenging working and living conditions.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Good understanding of humanitarian principles of humanity and neutrality.
  • Ability to work and travel in remote areas.
  • Demonstrating trustworthiness and upholding the highest ethical standards.
  • Strong ability to organize work, coordinate multiple tasks, work under pressure, and work within a multi cultural team.

Language

  • Strong written and spoken English

Myanmar nationals with relevant skills sets and proven experience of working at international level are strongly encouraged.
