Your Opportunity
Embark on a transformative journey with us as a Service Design & Innovation Business Partner, where you will be at the forefront of shaping innovative solutions that enhance the lives of individuals and communities served by Mission Australia. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of services and practice approaches that seamlessly blend lived experience, empirical evidence, and professional expertise.
Your mission will be to cultivate a holistic understanding of the needs and aspirations of those we serve, leveraging firsthand experiences, rigorous research, and best practices to craft impactful interventions. By fostering collaboration across diverse stakeholders and disciplines, you will pioneer innovative strategies that amplify Mission Australia’s footprint and foster positive change in communities nationwide. As a champion of co-creation and user-centric design principles, you will lead initiatives aimed at enhancing service accessibility, effectiveness, and relevance.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with relevant service delivery leaders and staff
- Actively participate and contribute to Leadership team meetings and strategic planning forums relevant to Service Design and Innovation
- Provide a primary point of contact for service design and innovation related enquiries and provide expert advice and guidance, tools and resources
- Provide a sounding board to service delivery leaders and their teams to develop and critically evaluate ideas and opportunities regarding innovation, service design, client participation and strengthening communities’ approaches
- Provide coaching and support to local teams to identify, scope and implement opportunities for service design and innovation including interpreting evaluation and IM results, local community needs analysis and support for community consultation and co-design
- Work autonomously, effectively balancing local and national priorities, regularly discussing and planning priorities with the National Manager SDI and State / Housing leaders
- Support the creation and implementation of service improvement plans for services operating under Flagship models, collaborating with relevant service delivery and Practice Quality teams
- Implement and manage national strategic priorities and projects in relation to our ‘Client Voice Strategy’ and our ‘Lived Experience Flagship Service Model’
Requirements for Success
- Demonstrated knowledge of and passion for human centred design approaches including co-design and person-informed service design
- Ability to implement human centred design work in a community service context
- Proven ability to synthesise and analyse complex information from a range of sources and subject matter experts
- Strong written communication skills and proven ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively, including creating visual models and presentations
- Proven ability to build strong and respectful relationships, to collaborate effectively and facilitate robust discussions
- Experience in workshop facilitation both face to face and virtually
