Financial Assistance Program Administration, Data Consultant 1 (DC1)

Salary: $3,728.00 – $4,987.00 Monthly
Responsibilities:
- Using databases such as Forest Health Tracker, perform data compilation and research analysis on financial assistance application packets to determine trends and service gaps.
- Conduct remote reviews of Service Forestry fieldwork to screen for forest practices and resource protection concerns using FPRAM and other data sources.
- Review submitted financial assistance application packets for accuracy and completeness.
- Approve appropriate funding amounts for requested treatment activities based on program standards.
- Analyze grant expenditure data within Forest Health Tracker to determine which funding source to use on financial assistance projects. Work with field staff and management to develop a plan for spending state and federal dollars.
- Ensure database integrity by verifying project
- Track payments and payment requests in Forest Health Tracker and DataMart using Finance expenditure spreadsheets for reconciliation.
- Use the Forest Health Tracker (FHT) online database to maintain Service Forestry project records and files.
- Provide data to Service Foresters or others to facilitate aggregation for periodic accomplishment reports such as monthly and annual grant performance reports, final grant close-out accomplishment reports, quarterly performance measures, deliverable accomplishments, etc.
- Serve as an initial point of contact for inquiries and requests for service of the program in the Southeast Region.
- Provide consultative services for DNR or other forest landowner financial assistance or incentive programs such as Landowner Assistance Cost-Share.
- Deliver information and stories about service forestry work in assigned areas to the public and DNR staff in coordination with supervisors and Communications staff.
- Enter and provide documentation for all inquiries and services provided into the One Stop Shop Online Tracking Tool.
- Collaborate with staff to maintain and update knowledge related to technology, data collection, and other job duties.
- Respond to informational requests for program information, accomplishment data, staff and budget needs, etc.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with customer service.
- Experience using and tracking multiple data sets provided by multiple parties.
- Experience in data analysis (numerical and descriptive).
- Experience interpreting and explaining complex processes and requirements to the public.
- Experience managing multiple deadlines and prioritizing those deadlines to meet mandated timeframes.
- Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office applications, and SharePoint.
- Skills in oral and written communication and can convey messages clearly and persuasively.
- Organizational management – has a strong understanding ability to organize efficiently and the ability to develop or use systems for tracking the implementation and accomplishments of several complex projects.
