  • Classification: SCHADS Level 6 with a salary range of $102,653 – $107,178 per annum + Superannuation

About your new role

The Healing and Recovery Service is an aftercare program delivered in partnership with Danila Dilba Health Service and will be co-located in Coconut Grove. The service provides healing and recovery for people (and their families) following a suicide attempt or experiences of distress and/or suicidal crisis. The service is non-clinical and provides psychosocial support and care coordination to people aged 15 years and over in the Greater Darwin area.

The Service Manager provides service delivery leadership, program management and people support for the Darwin Healing and Recovery Service. The Service Manager is responsible for managing staff, ensuring effective and timely service delivery, evaluating and reporting. The Service Manager also manages resourcing for the program and contract, regulatory and organisational compliance. The Service Manager will bring strong relational and stakeholder management skills to and motivate quality relationships and performance within Neami and with Danila Dilba Health Service Recovery and Healing team.

The Service Manager provides guidance, service coordination, planning, implementation and problem solving support to the Healing and Recovery Team to ensure program operations and practices, are consistent with the over-arching service delivery model principles the service model.

What you will bring to the role

  • Formal tertiary qualification in Human Services and or a related field and/or Cert IV qualification (e.g. Cert IV Mental Health) and/or relevant experience
  • Experience and understanding of working with people experiencing distress, with mental health challenges, suicidality and/or deliberate self-harm
  • Sound understanding of the personal, family, and social factors associated with suicidal ideation and attempts
  • Demonstrated interest/and or experience working with cultural and community groups known to be at higher risk of suicide (e.g. males, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. LGBTQIA+ community, people who identify as CALD, youth)
  • Experience in supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and to respond to complex or competing tasks in a timely way
