Main responsibilities

 

  1. Driving and Vehicle Maintenance:

– Ensure safe and responsible driving for official passengers across designated areas.

– Maintain vehicles in optimal condition, ensuring regular checks on seat belts, tires, fuel, and lubricants.

– Adhere to organizational security protocols, including route adjustments based on guidance from managers.

– Maintain accurate logs of vehicle movement and report incidents or accidents promptly.

– Ensure the presence of updated legal documents, including a valid driving license and vehicle registration.

– Avoid transporting unauthorized persons, illegal goods, or passengers carrying arms or wearing military uniforms.

 

  1. Logistics Support:

– Manage procurement tasks, including reviewing purchase requests, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with organizational procedures.

– Maintain and verify purchase files, price catalogues, and supplier lists.

– Oversee stock management, conduct regular inventories, and ensure proper archiving of procurement and transportation documents.

– Support fleet management by coordinating inter-base movements, monitoring vehicle use, and ensuring adherence to security rules.

– Provide assistance with IT, telecom, and energy equipment as required, ensuring the proper functioning of essential systems.

 

  1. Security Assistance:

– Act as the focal point for access-related issues in areas of intervention, ensuring compliance with minimum operating security standards.

– Monitor and analyse the security situation, providing regular updates to staff and management.

– Establish and maintain a network of contacts for security and access monitoring.

– Ensure staff movements and vehicle use comply with safety protocols, tracking equipment and ensuring availability of safety tools.

– Conduct security briefings for visitors and incoming staff.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Qualifications and Competencies

 

Essential Requirements:

– At least 1 year of experience in logistics, driving, or security-related roles.

– Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.

– Proficiency in Arabic and English (spoken and written); knowledge of Kurdish or Turkman is an asset.

– Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and familiarity with IT and telecom systems.

– Ability to work under pressure in unstable and potentially dangerous environments.

– Knowledge of Iraq’s political, economic, and social context is an advantage.

S/he will bring to the attention of her/his line manager any issue of concern. The post holder will report to her/his line manager any threat to security, potential or real. S/he accepts that s/he is a vital part of the safety and security culture of Tdh.
