Nottingham Trent House (95002), United Kingdom, Nottingham, NottinghamshireService Transition ConsultantService Transition ConsultantAbout this roleAs a Service Transition Consultant in our UK Service Transition Team no two days will be the same!You will get tons of autonomy in this role and be part of a growing team which is evolving and maturing in support of our extensive service delivery agendaThe UK Service Transition team is focused on ensuring a consistent and seamless approach to the transition of services into our production environment. You will work in partnership with our Agile delivery outcome teams and technical operations support teams to ensure there is minimal impact to new and changing services, and that the required support is all in place.You’ll also get the opportunity to shape the future of the Service Transition team and the role of Service Transition Consultant through ownership continual improvement initiatives which align to Capital One’s Technical Transformation and UK Imperatives. You will work both independently and as part of a team to be an effective enabler of Capital One’s delivery initiatives.What you’ll do:

  • Work with key delivery and support stakeholders to identify all production readiness activities and ensure they are in place for go live (Support agreements, Service Catalogue, Change management etc).
  • Create awareness and ensure engagement between our outcome delivery teams and technical operations support teams.
  • Manage, track and prioritise service requirements for new/changed services and manage them through to completion.
  • Document service risks, working closely with business and service stakeholders to generate awareness and formulate action plans
  • Manage and influence decisions for service acceptance and production readiness, providing advice and recommendations for go-no go decisions.
  • Ensure that key support functions are aware, prepared and capable of supporting any new or amended deployed services.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of Service Transition processes and procedures and ensuring these are adhered to by all support project teams including third parties.
  • Drive the maturation of the Service Transition process in response to our technical transformation roadmap.
  • Act as Change Manager for assigned intents, providing final sign off for production deployment.

What we’re looking for

  • You’ll have strong influencing and communication skills.
  • Be great at building relationships with a variety of stakeholders and leverage these to achieve desired outcomes.
  • A passion for service excellence and enthusiasm for continual improvement which you use to drive change.
  • A Strong Service/Support Readiness track record in a Tech Service environment
  • Be comfortable working through ambiguity to reach an agreed service based solution.
  • A basic knowledge of modern application and infrastructure technologies and terminology, along with entry level understanding of the principles of AWS Cloud technologies.
  • This role will require a degree of skill in context switching, and the application of stakeholder knowledge to problem solving
  • An understanding and experience of implementing into a live IT infrastructure environment
  • Experience of Agile Project Management methodology
  • ITIL Foundation V3 or V4 level accreditation or equivalent
