About the Program

Anglicare NT’s Refugee & Migrant Settlement Services (RAMSS) service assisting individuals and families to independently utilise a broad range of services in the community and is available to refugees and migrants who have lived in Darwin, Palmerston and rural areas for less than five years. We provide settlement information, referrals and support in a wide range of areas, including immigration, accommodation, income, health, police and legal issues, education and employment

About the Opportunity

The Settlement Support Worker provides essential casework, information, and referral services to humanitarian entrants and other migrants residing in both urban and rural Darwin. You will deliver culturally sensitive case management services that cater to the unique needs and challenges faced by both individuals and families. This includes ensuring that all services provided are culturally appropriate and respectful of the diverse backgrounds and experiences of those you will be assisting. Your role will be pivotal in helping individuals and families navigate their settlement journey and access the necessary support systems available to them in the community.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Formal qualifications in a relevant Social / Community Welfare discipline or deemed equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in refugee and migrant welfare and general knowledge of refugee and migrant welfare issues highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in case management and service delivery to clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Proven ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders and the broader community to develop effective working relationships
  • Ability and willingness to work in a diverse range of settings including but not limited to, a person’s home or place of residence, other services, community groups and other community settings
