About the role
The Sexual Health Nurse – Enhanced Syphilis Response Program (ESRP) role’s primary task is to support the implementation of targeted screening of men across the Central Australian regions, including Congress town and remote clinics and selected NTG remote communities dependant on need and current notification data. This is a service delivery position with considerable time spent on clinical activities, both in the clinic and outreach. These activities include the undertaking of screening, prevention, treatment and monitoring of sexually transmissible infections (STI’s) in the Central Australian region with a particular focus on addressing the current syphilis outbreak.
These tasks are conducted with the ongoing supervision; support and mentoring of the Sexual Health Coordinator to ensure appropriate clinical practice, and develop specialist skills and knowledge within the Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus field.
