What you’ll do

As our Sexual Violence Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading initiatives aimed at addressing and preventing child sexual assault and sexual violence within the community.

You’ll provide training, support, and coordination services to healthcare professionals, general practices, and relevant service providers and empower healthcare professionals to create safe spaces for disclosures and ensure that survivors receive the support they need.

  • Implement the Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) Linker Service Coordination and Primary Care Training Program in liaison with the Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network
  • Engage directly with general practices to deliver essential training sessions
  • Provide expert advice and support services to facilitate timely referrals and patient support for people affected by child sexual assault and sexual violence
  • Engage directly with individuals who have experienced child sexual violence to connect them with the appropriate support services
  • Collaborate with local health districts and relevant service providers to strengthen support systems
  • Manage data and reporting requirements to ensure program effectiveness

The details:

  • Full time 2-year contract
  • $44 – 49 per hour (depending on skills and experience) + leave loading + super + salary packaging benefits (if you’ve never worked for a NFP visit salary.com.au to find out how this translates to more in your take home pay)
  • Based in Penrith with travel across the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury & Lithgow region
  • Potential to work from home at times in line with business needs
  • Valid NSW Class C driver’s licence and own comprehensively insured motor vehicle
  • Flexibility to work outside of business hours on occasion where required

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong knowledge and skills in working with child sexual assault and sexual violence
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in community development, social work, social welfare, health promotion or similar field, supported by relevant experience
  • Skills and experience in capacity building activities, including training and coaching
  • Knowledge of the local service system, and ability to facilitate effective referrals
  • Proven experience establishing and maintaining effective partnerships and working collaboratively with other organisations
