What we are looking for

Project management and technical experience in Shelter and WASH, preferably in a humanitarian/recovery context, with a background in Engineering or Urban planning.

Team leadership experience with strong financial and project cycle management as well as experience and knowledge in urban displacement.

What you will do

The Shelter and WASH Project Manager main tasks is to implement both the delegated Shelter and WASH portfolios and ensure high quality and cost effective programme implementation within the designated geographical area. The role encompasses team direct line management and donor grants including proposals and reporting in addition to budgets management.

In this position you will:

  • Contribute to the development of Country, Area and programme strategies; and initiate and participate in the development of relevant Shelter and WASH projects.
  • Develop, coordinate, and manage the Shelter and WASH projects in line with proposals, strategies, and donor requirements; including management and monitoring of budget(s) according to the NRC Financial Handbook and donor requirements.
  • Provide technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects
  • Provide regular progress reports to management and concerned parties and contribute to preparation of donor reports as needed.
  • Manage NRC Shelter and WASH project staff in Beirut and Mount Lebanon and provide capacity building to project staff on key skills.
  • Represent Shelter and WASH in internal and external forums in the area as required and liaise with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders as needed.
  • Promote the rights of refugees and explore and asses new and better ways to assist.
  • Oversee and be responsible for the mainstreaming of protection guidelines in the NRC’s related activities as per NRC’s protection mainstreaming guidelines and ensure that all breaches/concerns are reported.

What you will bring

  • University Master’s degree in Engineering or Urban Planning and/or Social Sciences
  • Minimum 4 years of managerial and/or senior technical experience in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Experience in team management, financial management and project cycle management
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken
  • Experience in humanitarian and developmental responses in urban displacement with knowledge of urban context.
  • Strong data management and Monitoring and Evaluation skills
  • Strong capacity building skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Access is an added advantage.

  • Working collaboratively with technical and operational colleagues within a matrix structure, including capacity strengthening.

What we offer

  • Duty station: Beirut and Mount Lebanon.
  • Contract: 12 months, renewable based on funding, performance, and need for the position.
  • Travel: Approximately 20%.
  • Salary/benefits: Grade 8 on NRC Lebanon’s salary scales, with accompanying terms and conditions.
