World Learning seeks a short-term consultant to contribute to program design related to the Private Sector Engagement (PSE) strategy between industries and Lebanese higher education institutions (HEIs) to support World Learning staff in preparation for upcoming higher education programming in Lebanon.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise related to private sector engagement for higher education institutions and strengthening collaboration between the private sector and Lebanese HEIs
- Develop strategies and approaches for the capacity strengthening of HEIs to create and sustain effective private sector partnerships
- Lead the design of activities to establish HEI-industry clusters in key sectors in Lebanon
- Recommend appropriate interventions to overcome entrenched challenges
- Conduct written reviews of content related to context, partners, approaches, and activities
- Gather additional information as needed
Requirements
Required Experience/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- A minimum of (5) five years of demonstrated experience in the creation of private sector partnerships in international development contexts,
- Experience in entrepreneurial ecosystem development, preferably including establishment of incubators and/or incubation services
- Experience with USAID projects is a plus
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the location where this position is offered
- Required Skills:
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Professional proficiency in written and spoken English
- Required Behaviors/Competencies:
- Technical expertise in PSE required
- Familiarity with USAID’s Private Sector Engagement and Positive Youth Development policies
- Experience sustaining or supporting the creation of HEI – industry linkages and partnerships
- Understanding of the economic, entrepreneurial and employment landscape in MENA and/or Lebanon preferred
