Under the direct supervision of WHO ZPEO and the overall guidance of IFP, the incumbent, overall, will coordinate SIAs activities; more specifically, he will undertake the following duties
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- To assist the polio eradication activities, in planning and implementation of supplementary immunization activities (SIAs)
- To strengthen SIAs through improved micro-planning and supervision, increased government ownership and expanded partner participation.
- To support regional/district health staff in preparation of campaign activities, implementation and supervision through regular field visits
- To develop and update detailed plans of campaign activities in each province in line with the programme objective and targets.
- To coordinate provincial report and review all reports submitted by provinces and analyze the data related to SIAs to provide feedback to various health authorities
- To ensure the development and training on the use of data collecting tool from districts
- To support/assist in organizing and conducting appropriate training for the SIAs at regional and district levels.
- To support health authorities and district polio officers in the compilation and analysis of SIAs data
- To ensure timely feedback and endorsement of SI data by health authorities
- To assist in the planning of a comprehensive social mobilization/communication/ advocacy plan for SIAs.
- To prepare regular programme reports and follow up documentation of special activities for SIAs.
Qualifications
Educational background
Essential: Completion of Secondary education, nursing diploma from a recognized medical school or college
Desirable:
Professional experience and knowledge
Essential: 8 years of experiences in public health and control of communicable diseases
Desirable:
Language Skills
Essential: Excellent knowledge of English and Somali

- Very good ability to build and maintain relations and network with national authorities and other stakeholders across relevant sectors Knowledge of WHO mandate and goals
