Silicon Valley and Stanford University are known for being ground zero for feeding the pipeline of the nation’s most successful entrepreneurs. However, just like the start-up process itself, many entrepreneurs fail to launch at various stages of the innovation journey. An opportunity exists to study the obstacles faced by entrepreneurs, especially women and under-represented minorities, and to develop resources and strategies to help them succeed.
Through the formation of SIER, a talented team will concentrate on the entrepreneurs themselves, examining why some are resilient despite multiple failures while others may never get started. The initiative will seek to understand where resilience comes from and who becomes a strong entrepreneur, then develop programs and curricula to teach those qualities to future entrepreneurs, supporting their entrepreneurial success as well as their mental health and well-being as they tackle difficult leadership roles.
SIER is seeking a one-year fixed-term, 50% effort, Program Coordinator to administer, support, and manage this research and training program across entities and stakeholder countries.
