Work Hours flexibility may be available and considered
Salary: $4,723.00 – $6,349.00 Monthly

Responsibilities:

  • Planning Silvicultural/fuels reduction activities.
  • Planning and Timber sale design, including stream type determination, identification of potentially sensitive areas, boundary location and marking, reserve, and legacy tree identification and marking, identifying appropriate harvest systems, and locating roads to access landing locations.
  • Preparing documents, including SEPA, FPA, and other permits, GIS maps, pre-cruise narratives, and contract documents
  • Contract administration on timber harvests, PCT, salvage, fuels treatments, planting, and herbicide treatments.
  • Planning and doing Forest survey inventories which include: survival assessments, stocking, verifying targets, pre-commercial thinning, and forest health.
  • Managing the seedling and tree planting program in the District.

Required Qualifications: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in forestry or a closely related Natural Resource field AND two years experience with Forest Practices rules, forestry laws and practices, or similar natural resource regulatory experience;
    OR a combination of education and related experience.
  • 6 months of supervisory or lead worker experience.
  • Experience using GPS equipment and ESRI GIS program to map unit boundaries and road layouts.
  • Experience with computer applications such as Arc GIS, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and supporting an environment that honors diversity, equity, inclusion, and environmental justice practices.
  • Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations and public records retention and requests are followed.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team on assigned tasks, and adapt to changing needs.
  • Knowledge of contracting procedures.
