THE OPPORTUNITY
- Salary: $103,913 – $116,383 per annum + 11% superannuation + annual leave loading.
- Time Fraction: Full time, 1.0 EFT.
- Location: Moorabbin / Bourke Street / Chadstone campuses.
- WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
- Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
- Position Status: Ongoing contract of employment, with a 6-month qualifying period.
The Faculty of Health Science, Community & Social Studies at Holmesglen provides a progressive, innovative and supportive teaching environment with strong professional links and partnerships within the health and community services sector.
Join our team as the Simulation Centre Program Leader, where you will play a pivotal role in advancing academic leadership and professional development across our faculty. Your primary objective will be to promote best practices and an evidence-based approach to simulation-based education within Vocational and Higher Education courses, aligning them with curriculum and training package requirements.
In this role, collaboration is key, and you will engage with key industry and education partners to contribute to innovation in simulation. Your expertise will not only shape the educational landscape within our institution but also extend to participation in relevant research activities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

ABOUT YOU
- High level knowledge and applied expertise of contemporary teaching and simulation and learning methodologies and their application in health and community services.
- Extensive experience in the application of simulation across multiple contexts including, role-play techniques, simulated participant methodology and mannequin-based simulation.
- Demonstrated experience in an educational environment, including a sound background in teaching/lecturing, preferably in a higher education context and issues and developments in the education sectors.
- Ability to effectively lead teams and work collaboratively with academic staff to optimise student learning outcomes.
In addition, you will hold:
- Degree in nursing or similar field.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – TAE 40122 (or relevant predecessor qualifications) including any future successor qualifications.
- Master’s degree in education and/or Simulation or progress towards completion.
- Registered with an appropriate professional regulatory authority such as the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
