SITE CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER/1ST ASSISTANT – CONTRACT – NORTH EASTOur client, an offshore oil and gas contractor, is urgently seeking an experienced Site Construction Engineer/1st Assistant to join a 4-5 month offshore campaign at the NNG offshore wind farm. Candidates must hold full GWO certification, BOSIET (with CA-EBS), a valid medical certificate, and Chester Step approval.EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Must have experience as a Site Construction Engineer/1st Assistant within the offshore oil and gas industry.
- Proven ability to coordinate offshore project work, ensuring efficient performance while adhering to HSE and Quality standards.
- Strong interdisciplinary coordination skills, supervising construction teams across various disciplines.
- Expertise in optimizing production phases, managing construction activities, and solving coordination issues.
- Proficient in liaising with key personnel and subcontractors to ensure smooth maintenance and construction operations.
- Experienced in managing crane operations, conducting safety procedures, and complying with QHSE policies.
JOB SCOPEMission:
- Coordinate work and manpower on board for the assigned shift in compliance with Project specification, to ensure
- efficient performance and respecting HSE and Quality procedures and practices
Tasks:
- Assist the Offshore Construction Manager with regard to interdisciplinary coordination of all works on board
- Supervise the team of foremen and supervisors, about the various disciplines/categories of construction and assembly work, to comply with the quality and safety standard
- Coordinate the construction activities during the shift and optimise all production phases
- Ensure that the Offshore Construction Manager is kept fully informed of potential problems and construction status
- Liaise with Chief Mate, 2nd Engineer and Vessel Equipment Engineer to ensure preventive maintenance and construction activities
- Liaise with subcontractors’ supervisors to optimize production
- Solve matters related to coordination, priority and interface between the different disciplines to meet the scopes of the project
- Ensure that the Permit-to-Work system for construction crew is adhered to and ensures that the daily Tool Box Talks and JSA, if required, are carried out according to the procedures
- Motivate all construction crew/subcontractors with regards to health, safety and environment awareness
- Ensure the compliance with the standards dictated by our Client’s QHSE policies and safety procedures, to perform the activities in a safe manner
- Report incidents and near-miss events
- Manage the Crane operations, including coordination with the Chief Mate for main crane movements on board, ROV launching and underwater operations
- Assist marine operations if required
- Provide a construction report at the end of each shift
- Assist the Vessel Field Engineer in the follow up of project equipment and consumable, operation and monitoring of the stinger and JLT
- Ensure the rigging gear used is within date and properly marked
- Report to the Offshore Construction Manager
DURATION: Start ASAP.
