Job title: Site Engineer
Department: Programs Department
Location: PWJ Erbil Office – Frequent visits to Duhok
Report to: Senior Engineer/Supervising Engineers
Duration: 1 Year Renewable according to budget & performance
Job Description;
Site Engineer is responsible for surveying, proposing, implementing and monitoring Peace Winds projects at field level under supervision of Senior Engineer and Supervising Engineers.
Reporting Structure:
Site Engineer reports Directly to Supervising Engineer, Country Representative and international staff.
Tasks in Details:
- To assist Supervising Engineer in collecting technical information, progress information and provide any other additional support to the team in order to smoothly implement and monitor the project.
- To assist Supervising Engineer in regards to coordinate and supervise the contractor’s work
- To assist Supervising Engineer in regards to coordinating and supervising the rehabilitation workers.
- To assist Supervising Engineer in regards to project equipment procurement process.
- To assist Supervising Engineer in preparing technical documents such as designs, drawings, BOQ, etc.
- To take/ keep all necessary data including measurements and photos of the project and provide it to the team regularly.
- To prepare and send data for weekly reports of the project.
- To undertake technical monitoring of the project.
- Assist in preparation of the design and drawings of the project.
- Supervising on materials distribution to the public facilities/beneficiaries by the contractor.
- To perform any other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Education:
University degree in Engineering (ideally, civil engineer)
Knowledge and experience required:
- A minimum of 5 years of previous work experience including at least 3 year of work experience in engineering preferably with international NGOs.
- Business level computer literacy (Ability to use Microsoft Office including Word and Excel is a must. AutoCAD is advantage)
- Proficiency in Arabic and Kurdish/ Business level English language skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as a team.
- High ability of task management and time management.
- High ethics and motivation to work in the humanitarian field.
- Fully-available in the field/site
- Available to work in different locations between Duhok and Erbil
- Good physical condition to meet the job’s demands and work in the field.
- Willingness to adhere to and carry out PWJ Iraq rules.
Working hours:
- Standard working hours according to PWJ Iraq regulations.
- A reasonable degree of flexibility is expected when and where required.
Language Requirements (writing, speaking, and reading):
•English – Excellent
•Kurdish – Native or Native level
•Arabic – Fluent

•Demonstrated attention to activity tracking detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members is required.
•Talent for organizing and cataloging information is essential.
