About the role:
Astute’s Renewables team is partnering with a with one of the UK’s leading independent transformer manufacturers to recruit an Electrical Site Engineer.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Production Manager you will:
- Travel to third party sites both in the UK to install and test the equipment
- Carry out In-house fitting and assembly of various types of power transformers
- You will assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies
- Ensure that all equipment is assembled and tested to the highest standard
- You will use general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the role
- Identify and work with others to resolve inadequate or unclear manufacturing/engineering information
Skills and qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Experience and competence of working on site fitting Power Transformers including fitting, wiring and test at site.
- Hands on experience of working within a mechanical/electrical engineering environment
- The ability to understand mechanical and schematic drawings
- Apprentice trained or a Mechanical/Electrical qualification
- Hands on experience of working within a mechanical/electrical engineering environment
- The ability to understand mechanical and schematic drawings
- Apprentice trained or a Mechanical/Electrical qualification
- Experience of Health & Safety and conducting risk assessments
- Ideally have up to date training on Overhead Crane/Slinging Lifting certification
- ECS accreditation is essential
- Ideally IPAF certification
- Full UK driving licence is essential
Salary and benefits
- £17 – 19 hourly rates
- 25 days holiday per year plus 8 bank holidays
- 9 Day Fortnight
