About You

Joining our team as a Skilling Queenslanders for Work Coordinator, you will take the lead on all operational aspects of delivering our Community Careers project. Working with our Registered Training Organisation (RTO) partner, this project will deliver accredited training in the areas of Infrastructure and Resources plus construction, along with personalised support for participants. You will oversee the recruitment of participants, non-accredited work readiness training and project reporting. 

The core focus of this project is to support our amazing participants on their journey to sustainable employment by helping them gain nationally recognised skills and qualifications, a potentially life changing step!

The Coordinator is a vital position within SSI, managing a specific program within the Educationand Training Division. They will recruit participants, provide case management, employment placement and post placement support and if qualified, provide vocational training

You are an energetic people person who enjoys collaboration, you will be liaising with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, such as government departments and agencies, other organisations plus employers. You will have experience in following contract requirements, meeting those plus the KPI’s set by the contract. To assist you to hit those KPI’s, you will enjoy and have proven success in business development with employers, (Corporate, small to medium enterprises and or government and non-government agencies.) with whom you will also have had success in negotiating employment and training opportunities to ensure that the participants have employment pathways tailored to their individual needs.

Negotiation is also required regarding the content of industry specific pre-employment training needs and the delivery of industry specific pre-employment programs with Registered Training Organisations. Managing the full cycle of the placements including vacancy assessment, advertising, screening, vetting, referring and presenting suitable candidates.

There will also be the marketing and promoting of programs to external agencies in order to grow the sustainability of the programs and enterprises, experience in this is essential.

Essential Criteria

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or its successor)
  • BSB10120 Certificate I in Workplace Skills
  • Computer Literate with previous experience of report writing for Government agencies, as well reporting
  • Understanding and empathy of the needs and barriers experienced by the participants that you are recruiting, supporting and placing in employment.
  • Excellent Communication and Negotiation skills
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail and prioritisation skills
  • Great administration skills as you will efficiently manage and maintain office files and records as well as supporting the team and the program to develop, implement and monitor systems and service improvements
