The Human Technology Institute (HTI) is at the forefront of driving the regulatory, governance and technical change needed to grasp the benefits of AI and other digital technologies, while addressing the risks that these technologies can pose to human rights. About you

HTI is currently seeking a Skills and Capability Development Lead (Responsible AI) to join the team on a two-year contract.

As the Lead, you will draw on your deep experience in up-lifting organisations to effectively adopt, deploy and responsibly manage digital technologies. In particular, you will lead the co-design, development and testing of programs that will support businesses adopting AI and other new and emerging technologies. A key focus of your work will be on the design of Responsible AI skills development frameworks and educational pathways for small and medium enterprise, and the corresponding development of highly practical educational and support resources for these businesses.

As a critical part of the team delivering one of four National AI Adopt Centres funded by the Commonwealth Government, you will be at the centre of work that delivers and enables new AI risk assessment and assurance workflows for Australian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), uplifting the digital literacy of Australian organisations, and enabling thoughtful, ethical, and effective responses to the emergence of artificial intelligence and digital technologies writ large.

The successful applicant will have expertise in:

  • the design and delivery of educational, training or uplift programs for business and government audiences
  • translating complex topics and concepts into accessible, practical and simple materials suitable for a largely non-technical audiences
  • artificial intelligence technologies, including an understanding of the risks, benefits and opportunities across a range of technology types and deployment scenarios
  • the current and emerging regulatory environment for digital technologies and artificial intelligence, in particular

Remuneration & Benefits

A competitive salary package, including 17% superannuation in addition to base salary, is on offer for the successful candidate.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 2 years.
