Overall Objective of the position “Skills, Business development and market engagement Officer”

 

Will be responsible for delivering skills training to youth and women in business management and market engagement plus, will connect farmers and business owners accessing to market and branding of products produced in agribusinesses.

 

Main Responsibilities

– implement surveys to collect data and analyse comprehensive qualitative and quantitative data to identify market needs and demand gaps that can lead to be filled by supporting market.

– arranging and delivering life skills training to women and youth on how to engage into market and sell their products in the market.

-Delivering trainings on Food Processing, Packing, Branding and Marketing.

– Arranging business development skills training for youth and women in Muthanna governorate.

 

– Prepare detailed reports and presentations on survey results, presenting findings to stakeholders, and providing actionable recommendations for policy development and decision-making.

 

– Development of beneficiaries’ business using modern methodologies to generate their income and increase in their income.

 

– Training beneficiaries on online marketing how to be able to sell their products online based availability of products that can be sold online.

 

– Connecting beneficiaries to social and labour directorate in Muthana to find job opportunities for them in community.

 

– Liaison and collaborate with relevant local and national authorities and stakeholders in relevant forums/cluster/working groups if needed. 

 

– identification and registration of beneficiaries that fall under life skills, development and business activities

 

– Arranging awareness campaigns in combating losing agribusinesses in Muthana in coordination with project officer.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience of working with vulnerable people. Ability to engage young people
  • Awareness of the issues facing people living on their own and supported accommodation
  • Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, housing legislation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings
  • Ability to positively work within a diverse team and provide support to other colleagues
  • Experience in identifying risk and protective factors and transfer to risk assessment
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in similar industry.

 

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Business, Statistics, or related area. Master’s
  • Detail orientation, ability to work independently, Knowledge of labour market trends and economic indicators, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English languages.
  • Languages: professional knowledge of English, proficiency in Arabic, and Kurdish proficiency is preferred.
  • IT skills: Ability to effectively use standard office software, such as MS Office (Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Exchange). Ability to effectively use project management software and other information systems /databases.
  • Excellent communication skills in building relationships with local contacts
  • Well-developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible and sensitive in demanding situations; passion for working with others
  • Good understanding of, and commitment to, gender equity
  • Strong documentation, research and report writing skills.
  • Knowledge of the NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector.
  • Great online marketing skills
