The skilled content maker is expected to develop engaging video content for social media, as well as high quality static assets and posts that lean into current trends and conversations online on our issue areas. In addition, support is required on the maintenance of UNICEF Botswana website and to provide support for digital and online events.
Specific deliverables:
Deliverable 1: Organic social media strategy & asset development.
- 12 x monthly digital media plans with actionable and achievable KPIs in line with the overarching communications strategy for UNICEF. The plan to include content & messaging calendar, audience targeting and innovative platform strategies.
- Daily digital assets (to include static, motion & video) developed and posted for the promotion of UNICEF core messaging & campaigns, in line with program and communication needs.
- Development and management of social media toolkit /trello boards / platforms to share content with partners.
- 12 x monthly reports on digital performance, audience growth, engagement, and reach, along with recommendations for optimization.
- Up to 48 UNICEF assets developed and stored online.
Deliverable 2: UNICEF Paid media strategy.
- Development and delivery of 2 paid media strategies to engage target audiences in our campaigns.
- Weekly reports on paid media, including recommendations and actions for optimization.
Deliverable 3: UNICEF Website.
- 20 new blogs resources posted on the UNICEF website.
- Monthly update of UNICEF website
- 4 quarterly reports delivered on website performance against agreed KPIs, and recommendations for further optimization.
- Deliverable 4: Online / virtual and in-person events.
- Digital management for up to 10 UNICEF or partner led online events, including attending, and managing pre-event.
- Support communications and logistics of up to 5 in-person events, liaising with communications service providers (audio technicians, photographers, others) capturing content for social media and managing digital assets.
- Attending monthly programme meetings to give updates on deliverables.
Deliverable 5: Media Monitoring.
- Compile monthly media monitoring reports.
- Weekly media monitoring on local newspaper
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- A first University Degree in one of the following fields: communication studies, media and journalism, marketing and advertising or related social sciences.
- At least eight (5) years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience in one or more of the following areas: communication, advocacy, high-level policy dialogue, social sector advertising, broadcast, public relations and engagement with partners and social media and digital marketing. Knowledge and understanding of early childhood education is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience of developing innovative solutions, partnerships and initiatives in the field of communications and advocacy.
- Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills with fluency in English.
- Strong leadership skills with capacity to plan, prioritize and manage a diverse range of partners, projects and activities. Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with internal and external stakeholders and work in a multicultural environment.
