Introduction about Heartland Alliance International (HAI)
Heartland Alliance International is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit organization, with country offices in many countries around the world. The organization has been operating in Iraq since 2004. Since the beginning of its work in Iraq, the organization has been implementing programs centered on human rights issues such as helping victims of exploitation and human rights violations and access to justice in general, and in the areas of mental health and psychological post-traumatic stress. The organization also works on programs to prevent and treat torture, prevent suicide, drug trafficking, reform juvenile cases, protect refugees, and the rights of minorities and survivors of conflicts using methods centered on protecting human rights.
Activity overview: Heartland Alliance International (HAI) is pleased to offer a 5-day free training in social media content creation, exclusively for Kirkuk district residents. This training aims to enhance participants’ skills in content creation and social media management in related to child protection programming, the trainees will be responsible for creating videos on topics related to child protection address directly to children or caregivers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Develop engaging, informative, and culturally relevant video content aimed at raising awareness on topics such as:
- Positive parenting techniques
- Dangers of early marriage
- Legal rights and access to justice for juveniles
- Drug prevention and its harmful effects
- Target Audience: Ensure the content resonates with children, adolescents, and caregivers within the local community.
- Post-Training Monitoring: Participate in a two-month follow-up process to receive feedback on the effectiveness of the content produced.
- Collaborative Approach: Work closely with the project team and communication officers to align content with program objectives.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Ensure all videos are culturally appropriate and aligned with the values and norms of the Kirkuk district.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Eligibility Criteria:
- Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 years or older.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrable knowledge and proficiency in video content creation, editing software, and the use of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Kurdish, Arabic, and Turkmani (written and spoken) is required to ensure that content reaches diverse segments of the community.
- Residence: Applicants must be from the Kirkuk district to ensure familiarity with local challenges and customs.
- Subject Knowledge: Strong understanding of child protection policies, juvenile justice rights, and the legal frameworks impacting children and families in Iraq. Prior experience working in these areas is an advantage.
- Commitment: Participants will sign an acknowledgment letter to confirm their commitment to attend all sessions of the activity and to complete the content creation process without any early withdrawal.
Additional Information:
- Monitoring and Feedback: For two months following the training, participants’ content will be monitored, and constructive feedback will be provided to enhance the quality and impact of the videos.
- Cost Coverage: Please note that HAI will not provide transportation or per diem fees for participants. All costs related to transportation or participation are the responsibility of the participants.
