About the role

As the Social Media Specialist, you are responsible for the coordination, development and growth of ChildFund Australia’s online presence and social media platforms, as well as for other communications initiatives as required. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to grow and learn in our Communications team, in a very supportive environment.

Key duties of the role

  • Develop a monthly social media content calendar
  • Improve performance in key areas including reach and engagement
  • Drive participation from the community to increase awareness
  • Develop relevant and engaging content that can be used across platforms
  • Produce and edit audio-visual content for all digital, web and print platforms
  • Suggest innovative and creative content ideas to engage with audiences
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders including ChildFund Australia staff, partners and suppliers
  • Support the Head of Public Affairs in projects as needed
  • Contribute to regular meetings with suppliers as needed
  • Track and report on all social media metrics
  • Promote and integrate gender equality, disability, and social inclusion into day-to-day work

Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Communications, Marketing, Multimedia, or Digital; or appropriate industry training courses
  • Recent graduate or 1 years’ working experience
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator)
  • Experience with social media channel management desirable
  • Not for profit experience or understanding (desirable)
  • Demonstrated understanding of implementing a social media strategy (desirable)
