JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Social Media Manager within the Corporate Communications team, the Social Media Specialist works collaboratively within a dynamic, fast-paced, deadline-oriented department to help develop and execute integrated strategic corporate communications. Key functions include maintaining FHI 360’s corporate social media accounts, drafting social media messages and creating graphics and short videos for an external audience. The specialist will also monitor social media mentions, maintain campaign calendars and create monthly metrics reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Writes and edits social media content for multiple platforms
  • Supports the creation of graphics and other visuals for social media channels
  • Produces and edits videos for external promotion
  • Works with technical teams to create social media content
  • Participates in cross-team collaboration to develop external campaigns
  • Creates social media toolkits
  • Maintains and enforces use of social media style guide
  • Supports the creation of social media ads
  • Monitors social media mentions on multiple platforms
  • Compiles, analyzes, and distributes monthly social media metrics report to inform future strategy and approaches
  • Monitors and tracks funder and partner mentions across corporate social media channels
  • Maintains monthly social media calendar to organize events, observance days and campaigns
  • Assists with administrative tasks, as needed
  • Supports with the coordination and logistics of in-person or online events
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or Related Field
  • 1-2 years of experience with writing, editing, and communicating through social media networks and tools.
  • Prior experience working in global health or international development preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Premiere, and Adobe Express
  • Knowledge of social media channels, specifically Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram
  • Experience creating compelling social media messages and visuals
  • Knowledge of social media tools, including Sprout Social and Brand24
  • Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Suite products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Video producing and editing skills are a plus
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to be creative, innovative, and detail oriented
  • Excellent time-management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be flexible and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to motivate and collaborate with others

The expected hiring salary range for this role is listed below. FHI 360 pay ranges represent national averages that vary by geographic location. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, business sector, and budget.

Base salary is only one component of our offer. FHI 360 contributes 12% of monthly base pay to a money purchase pension plan account. Additionally, all US based staff working full-time, which is calculated at 40 hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per year, 12 sick days per year, and 11 holidays per year. Paid time off is reduced pro rata for employees working less than a full-time schedule.

Hiring Salary Range: 56,000- 69,000
