Position Summary:
The Future Students Office acts as the first point of contact for prospective domestic and international students looking to study at UNSW. Our team helps to promote programs and introduce future students to the opportunities available at UNSW.
A Social Media Student Content Assistant (Level 2) provides support on creating social media content to support Future Students marketing activities.
This involves creating relevant, timely and accurate content for the UNSW social media accounts from the perspective of a current student, promoting university life, student services, degrees and more.
Accountabilities:
Specific accountabilities:
- Create original video content that showcases themes of student experience, lifestyle, campus vibrancy and trending topics, featuring in videos/photos where necessary
- Assist in the development and delivery of student content for the UNSW TikTok, Instagram and YouTube platforms, ensuring content is developed in close collaboration with the Future Students and Social Media teams
- Contribute to video-based content with a strong, distinctive student voice
- Provide additional content support for the ongoing maintenance of the Future Students web ecosystem
- Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself or others.
Skills & Experience:
It is highly likely that you will have:
- Existing Student Ambassador or UNSW student in their second or subsequent year of study
- Highly motivated and outgoing, with a passion for university life and the educational experience at UNSW
- UNSW knowledge including academic, extra-curricular activities, support structures, as well as an understanding of student concerns and cross-cultural issues
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Awareness of changes and trends on TikTok. An understanding of in-platform features is desirable, but not required.
- Strong presentation and collaboration skills. The ability to execute video and audio using low-fi technology (e.g. mobile phone)
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training
