Job description
KCLS is looking for a highly experienced social worker to lead their social work team. As the Social Services Team Leader, you will be responsible for building and managing the social work practice. You will also work collaboratively with other team leaders to deliver an integrated, holistic, and client-centered service to the Kimberley community.
Essential Criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in client-centred social work
- Must be eligible to hold membership with Australian Association of Social Workers
- Experience in effectively managing staff and programs at a senior level, including accurate data and record keeping, preparing reports and acquitting funds
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Sound organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while working collaboratively
- Experience in building and maintaining partnerships across the community, including NGOs and government agencies
- Commitment to social justice principles and demonstrated ability to work effectively with Indigenous Australians
- Personal resilience, adaptability, and initiative to thrive in a remote work environment
Desirable Criteria
- Current driver’s licence valid for Western Australia
- Experience working in a community legal setting or similar community-based organisation
- Experience supporting people who have experienced trauma, including victims of family violence
- Experience working with indigenous communities
- Ability to operate outside an office environment, including working with clients in their homes and other external locations
