AGIAMONDO is the personnel service of German Catholics for development cooperation. In the Civil Peace Service (CPS), we offer professionals the opportunity for meaningful service in cooperation with local development actors. The CPS is a personnel program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. It works for a world in which conflicts are settled without violence. Together with church and civil society partner organizations in Timor-Leste, AGIAMONDO wants to contribute to the civil conflict resolution there and to the sustainable and just development of the country through peacebuilding measures.

Fokupers is one of the longest established civil society organisations in Timor-Leste. It was founded in 1997 to address gender-based violence and human rights violations against women and children, particularly those committed during the Indonesian occupation of Timor-Leste. Today, this non-profit organisation has been operating for almost 26 years and has expanded its services to include victim support, non-gender specific early childhood education, advocacy and the empowerment of women – both in the community and in Timor-Leste as a nation. This work is supported by the involvement of 35 community-based women’s groups in ten communities. It includes the running of shelters, crèches, legal support, training and development, economic empowerment and community sensitisation.
