Social Worker MSW – Oncology

Position Summary
The Social Worker provides support and services to assist our Oncology patient population as they navigate their care using psychosocial interventions and resources. This position is M-F days at our South County and West County Oncology Clinics.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial services to cancer patients and their caregivers.
• Utilize crisis intervention, problem solving, and psychosocial education to identify and address barriers to care, job-related stress, financial concerns, and changes in patient functioning.
• Complete psychosocial assessment and related documentation.
• Facilitate referrals to community resources for patients/caregivers.
• Provide information about insurance options and coverage.
• Participate in multidisciplinary care clinics and provide telephone follow-up, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of computers.
• Verbal and written ability with organizational and interpersonal skills.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work.
• Currently a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois depending on location.
• Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).

Salary Range
$55,000.00 – $85,300.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one’s qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
