Social Worker – Nineveh

Job Summary: The Social Worker assists the community by supporting beneficiaries affected by issues such as neglect, child abuse, domestic violence, and mental health challenges. The Social Worker handles cases through phone or in-person consultations. They assess the situation of beneficiaries, including displaced populations from Lebanon, gather relevant information regarding their circumstances, and provide crisis intervention and other services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assess cases received by the center and allocate necessary services to support the cases.
2. Provide direct support and care to beneficiaries from the displaced population in Lebanon, offering tailored care for male and female youth affected by gender-based violence, including basic psychological support and case management.
3. Follow the guidelines for addressing gender-based violence (GBV) in terms of confidentiality, respect, and integrity.
4. Ensure safety and non-criminalization while providing services.
5. Establish a hotline, in coordination with management, to ensure that beneficiaries from surrounding areas can access information on available services and procedures to facilitate timely access to these services.
6. Provide appropriate documentation for reported cases of gender-based violence, ensuring forms are completed correctly.
7. Collaborate with specialized partners to improve, enforce, and supervise referrals, ensuring beneficiaries’ timely access to services.
8. Enhance and support group activities for women and adolescent girls, providing age-appropriate psychosocial support for each group.
9. Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the Project Manager as required.
10. Act professionally and personally in a manner that enhances the credibility of IHAO and does not compromise its humanitarian mission.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Structure:

• Reports directly to: Project Manager.
• Works directly with: Community Mobilizer, Project Manager, and Administration.

Knowledge and Experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required.
• At least three (3) years of experience in a related role is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English are required.
• Good computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and email are required.
• Previous experience working with an NGO is a plus
