Background
The Enterprise Application Development (EAD) unit of the Information Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for developing sustainable and affordable IT solutions to meet UNOV/UNODC requirements, also enabling availability of the solutions more generally across the UN Secretariat entities
Job Purpose and Organizational Context
The India Technology Hub (ITH/EAD) based in New Delhi forms part of the ITS’s vital delivery pillars. It keeps up with the UN’s revised ICT strategy. As part of this strategy and under the Head – ITH; the Software Quality Analyst will work with a team of highly motivated software development professionals on various applications – development, enhancements, management, and deployment tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Participate in the testing, debugging, and implementation of new application systems releases, modules, and functionalities.
  • Develops test cases and automates standard testing procedures using UN-established standards for IT technologies, programming languages, and tools.
  • Analyze the collected error/defect data to better understand how errors are introduced and can be eliminated. Ensure tight management of milestones and progress of ongoing software development projects.
  • Undertakes rigorous manual testing of applications software.
  • Documents testing and quality assurance processes and communicate the same to the team in a clear manner.
  • Perform quality assurance issues prioritization and resolution facilitation.
  • Ensure traceability of test cases to requirements, working with the project to ensure all requirements are tested.
  • Serve as a team member in the Quality Assurance, Software Testing, planning, specification and design of computer application systems;
  • Works with developers to identify unit testing coverage and ensure any gaps are documented and addressed.
  • Performs workflow analysis and recommends quality improvements.
  • Ensures data security and integrity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field from a recognized university.
Experience:
  • A minimum of three (3) years (with a Master’s degree), or a minimum of five (5) years (with a Bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience at the national and/or international level in computer applications is required.
  • Manual testing and test case creation along with JIRA operations is highly desirable.
Language:
  • Fluency in English and Hindi is Required.
