The Sorting Area Supervisor at the distribution centre in Goonellabah will oversee a team of sorters. Your role is primarily responsible for sorting and pricing of goods, coordinating delivery of stock to Vinnies retails stores. Your role is critical to optimising processes, ensuring a well-organised warehouse environment and contributing to the success of the supply chain and distribution operations.  Current forklift licence is required, it would be advantageous to have a current HR Licence. You will have good understanding of warehousing operations and the drive to learn and achieve performance goals.

Your Responsibility

  • Efficiently supervise the day-to-day operations for the maximum benefit of the Society
  • Plan workflow with warehouse staff/volunteers on a daily basis as appropriate
  • Support team members through effective coaching and training to ensure they are equipped with adequate knowledge and skills to achieve their individual performance goals
  • Monitor, instruct and educate staff and volunteers in relation to waste management, security of donations and safety compliance
  • Log all warehouse-related hazard and incidents into the Society’s Integrated Risk Management System (RMS).
  • Provide support to the Warehouse Manager, coordinate administrative tasks and other tasks as required.

You Will Need

  • Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced retail and/or warehousing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to assign tasks, manage work schedules and compliance with policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience in staff and volunteer management, including on-boarding, staff engagement and retention
  • Demonstrated knowledge in clothing brands for quality assurance.
  • An understanding of Work Health and Safety and other relevant government legislation.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Forklift licence is required; HR licence is desirable.
