Spend a year sharing your life with people with and without learning disabilities in L’Arche.
The Soulful Internship is a year of living in a L’Arche house – in one of our Kent, Manchester or Edinburgh Communities – befriending and supporting our members with learning disabilities, and taking time to deepen and grow your spiritual life. You will support our members with learning disabilities in living full and vibrant lives whilst also pursuing a spiritual development course facilitated by L’Arche.
You will meet weekly with other interns to explore topics such as mindfulness, creative spiritual practices, storytelling, and joyful activism.

Could the Soulful Internship be for you?
The Soulful Internship is designed for people seeking to deepen their connections to themselves, their community, and the world around them. People of all faiths are welcome, including those who are spiritual but not religious.
Some of our live-ins arrive at eighteen for a gap year; others come in their twenties, looking for a soft launch into independent living. We also regularly welcome live-ins who are older, on a sabbatical or a career break or seeking intentional community.
*The Soulful Internship is for anyone who already has the right to live and work in the UK. If you want to join L’Arche but need a visa, please consider applying to become a Live-In Community Worker.
