About the Role
Are you ready for a distinctive journey to elevate your career in the procurement industry? As a Procurement Specialist, you play a pivotal role in our Procurement team, contributing to sustainable value in spend and commercially beneficial results aligned with our core value chain. You will collaborate with key internal and external clients to deliver excellence in procurement, maintain probity principles, and drive continuous improvement.
Currently, we are seeking two Procurement Specialists to join our team, each focusing on different areas of the University. One role involves supporting researchers in procurement activities, assisting them in achieving impactful results with the suitable research equipment. The other role focuses on general procurement sourcing activities across diverse subjects and areas, efficiently assisting internal stakeholders. In both roles, you will facilitate end-to-end tendering activities, supporting both category procurement and ad-hoc sourcing requirements. This provides an opportunity for exposure to varied procurement activities, including digital solutions, consultancies, capital, etc.
Data analysis, market research, and the development, writing, and management of tenders using eSourcing tools are also key aspects of both roles. We are offering high-performance training for both positions and providing a diverse and inclusive work environment that supports your career growth!
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure stakeholder expectations are managed
- Provide subject matter expertise to internal clients
- Intermediate analytical skills: including analysis of supply markets across multiple categories as well as cost breakdowns
- Translating business requirements into effective tender documentation
- Using information systems such as the spend cube (PowerBi), eSourcing system and finance system
Who we are looking for
We’re looking for people who demonstrate verbal and written communication skills. You are to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
You will also have:
- 2 + years of experience in sourcing, contracts management or a similar role, and a good understanding of contemporary procurement practices.
- Proven track record in facilitating efficient market engagement processes, ensuring outcomes meet business requirements.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office – Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Proficient in data analytics and reporting –demonstrated experience using Microsoft Excel to cleanse and analyse data and undertake commercial/financial analysis and reporting
