The Bumblebee Conservation Trust is looking for a part-time South West England Project Officer
(0.8 FTE).
Your primary role will be to help research and conserve some of the most threatened bumblebees
in the UK in the picturesque counties of Devon and Cornwall. You will carry out bumblebee
surveys to get up to date information on their range and distribution, and undertake monitoring
to investigate particular aspects of bumblebee ecology. Via workshops, talks and other events
you will train a team of volunteers and land managers to work alongside you. You will liaise
with landowners and land managers and establish partnerships for future conservation work.
This role will address our strategic aim of enhancing the understanding of bumblebee ecology
and conservation.
You will be an enthusiastic individual with conservation and science experience to take on this
exciting role. You will have experience or knowledge of pollinators and their habitats. You
will have good field skills, good communication skills and be able to build effective
relationships.

This is a 0.8 FTE part-time, fixed term 7 month position, with extension subject to funding,
home-based in the South West.
