Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Space Coordinator and Technologist (STEM) to join Faculty Operations, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice, Academic Division.

The Space Coordinator and Technologist (STEM) is a specialist role with responsibility for the effective, safe, and sustainable operations of specialist teaching spaces, including the management of Simulated School Laboratories and STEM spaces, and the management of assets and equipment.
The position works in collaboration with academics, students and other Faculty Operations Teams and applies specialist expertise to provide an integrated and highly responsive support service which ensures that students have the benefit of a high quality learning experience.

What you need to succeed

  • Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a relevant degree in conjunction with at least four (4) years subsequent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated specialist scientific knowledge and experience in a science laboratory environment, and in developing, interpreting and applying standard protocols to support the management of space, equipment and assets to deliver effective and efficient solutions
  • Demonstrated high level problem solving skills with proven ability to identify and analyse relevant policies, procedures, statistics and other data to achieve workable solutions to meet the business needs of clients
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to quickly establish rapport, manage collaborative working relationships and engage with diverse client groups.
  • Demonstrated planning and organising skills which will enable the appointee to work independently to organize, prioritise and delegate work activities to meet competing deadlines and the ability to provide timely responses to unexpected challenges at short notice.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of digital and educational technologies, and strong digital literacy skills including the ability to use custom database packages, email, internet technologies and the Microsoft suite of products (with intermediate spreadsheet functionality) and provide specialist advice on educational technologies.
