About the role
The Space Academic Network (SPAN) are looking for a new administrator to join their team. We are looking for someone to provide an efficient, confidential and proactive administrative support service. This will involve a variety of tasks, ranging from general administration such as meeting arrangement and note taking, to maintenance of the SPAN events calendar, website and social media channels.
 
SPAN seeks to represent the academic sector in the space sector and consists of members from currently 43 Universities and liaises with Government, UK Space Agency, UK Space (industry trade body) and other organisations on behalf of academia. This role will include developing and maintaining strong relationships within the network, and supporting engagement activities such as national networking events and roundtable discussions.
 
This role is currently fixed term until 31st March 2025. Plans are underway to extend funding for this post beyond this date until at least 2026, but this cannot be guaranteed. 
About you
We are seeking a self-motivated individual with previous clerical or administrative experience to join our team. This role will be mostly remote working, so autonomy is key. You should also be able to demonstrate strong administrative, organisational, planning and problem-solving skills. Event management experience is ideal, and a willingness to travel to attend network events is a plus.
