Job Summary
Provides oversight and management of Campus Services’ elements of mission critical events including Open House events, orientation dates, Move-In, and other campus events, while creating exemplary experiences for prospective students and families. Represents the department at events for students and parents. Responsible for planning, coordinating, managing and overseeing events on Kennesaw State University’s campuses and/or locations. Works collaboratively with the marketing team, departments, Strategic Communications and other campus partners to help guide marketing and communication efforts. Works alongside leaders to produce marketing campaigns that educate the KSU community on services offered.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Collaborates with internal and external teams to coordinate Campus Services-related components of events for incoming and/or prospective student events, as well as other events as assigned
2. Responsible for the planning, coordination, and oversight of events for Campus Services’ departments
3. Collaborates in the creation and distribution of educational materials for students, faculty, staff, and visitors regarding Campus Services
4. Serves as the primary Campus Services contact on university-wide committees including but not limited to, Move-In, Pumpkin Launch, Geek Week, Staff Appreciation, Homelessness Awareness Week, Homecoming, Week of Welcome
5. Determines long term goals for Campus Services events
6. Develops regular reports including attendance and engagement to evaluate and report on the Return on Investment (ROI)
7. Coordinates with Legal Affairs and Procurement to secure vendors for events as needed
8. Responsible for the assigned marketing and communications campaigns
9. Creates marketing and communication plans and with deadlines for various stages of a project or campaign
10. Assists departments to better understand the overarching marketing and communication goals and constraints to better achieve department goals
11. Meets with departments regularly to understand project details, give progress updates on existing projects, and analyze overall marketing plan performance
12. Speaks on behalf of Campus Services during orientations, open houses, live-streamed events as needed May provide supervision and training for assigned staff and/or student assistants
13. Researches, coordinates, and manages special projects on behalf of Campus Services as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia driver’s license
Required Experience
Three (3) years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Preferred Experience
Previous higher education event management experience a plus

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of event planning and execution processes
Knowledge of marketing and communication processes
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong Attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
