The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

We are seeking an experienced Special Projects Manager to join our family. Reporting to the General Manager and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will provide state-wide support to both the Victorian Operations Team and the national Property Team supporting office acquisition, fit out, and supporting or managing the relocation of state TSF community offices. Document security and archiving is secondary project managed by this role.

About our role

You will be responsible for:

  • The primary focus of this role will be to provide support to both the state operations team and the national property team supporting urgent office acquisition, fit out, and supporting or managing the relocation of state TSF community offices.
  • This role will support the work of the National Property Manager and team, who have the responsibilities for property management, and local teams ensuring they remain informed and engaged regarding state property activity.
  • A secondary focus will be to support the document retention project in the state.
  • Whilst this role has these two key focus projects, there will be other projects this role will be asked to support, from time to time as directed by the state General Manager.

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Relevant tertiary level qualification or equivalent project experience
  • Demonstrated project management experience or understanding of project implementation
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management
  • Able to communicate with confidence and clarify to a diverse audience both written and verbally
  • Experience in using influencing skills with a wide range audiences to achieve specific outcomes
  • Able to work lead discussions and work collaboratively with the wider state/territory and national team members
  • Capability be a self-starter and to work independently
  • Stakeholder management and engagement skills
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • An understanding and appreciation of matrix leadership
