The Resource Assistants Program seeks to engage ethnically and racially diverse young professionals in natural resource careers. You must be:

Position Description:
The position is designed to orient and develop a trainee in the field of natural resources and associated activities such as recreation, scenery/interpretation, wilderness, wilderness trails, and special land uses. This position will focus on processing minor special land l uses including filming research, and short term recreation activities. This position is not virtual. Major Duties involve performing and completing developmental assignments that support broad natural resource functions intended to expand the employee’s understanding of concepts, underlying principles, and program requirements. Work assignments provide the trainee opportunities to communicate with the public regarding the agency’s management practices, program information, rules, and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Learn and use various information databases that monitor recreation resources program activities
Process special use applications
Perform on-the-ground investigations for site suitability inspections
Administer special authorization for recreation events, concessionaire operations, and special use permits
Performs additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Major studies relevant to this position: environmental science, social science, biology
