ABOUT THIS ROLE

YWCA Australia is currently seeking a dedicated Case Worker to join our Homelessness Services Team in our Sydney office. This is a part time role (3 days per week) role on a maximum term contract ending on 31 December 2024.

The role is responsible for supporting older women to stabilise their at-risk tenancies to prevent homelessness by:

  • Conducting strengths-based case management to establish and maintain a sustainable tenancy in a suitable long-term home
  • Providing relevant support to clients in areas of need, contributing to their ability to maintain stable accommodation
  • Working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary PTI team to support clients

ABOUT YOU

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Welfare or Education or demonstrated experience in a similar field
  • Previous experience working with people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness
  • Proven understanding of the special needs of marginalised people and the ability to effectively support clients with these needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across a variety of audiences,

This position will require the applicant to satisfactorily meet our pre-employment requirements. This includes:

  • Completion of a national criminal history check
  • A valid relevant state-based working with children permit.
  • Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination, which includes Government recommended boosters.
