Organizational Setting

The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization. The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets and the strengthening of cooperativism.

Technical Focus
To carry out studies with a view to technically subsidizing DAMEI/SE/MDA, through CGCOI, on the feasibility of possible bilateral technology transfer agreements to meet the demands in the country, the survey of existing and/or innovative technologies, and not inserted in the industrial chain to meet the demands and needs of family farming, and in a complementary way the analysis of the More Food Program.
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Define, together with the supervision of the project, the parameters of the consultancy’s performance.
• Carry out data and information collection on technologies not included in the national industrial chain to serve family farming.
• Systematize and analyze the potentialities, feasibility and limits for bilateral technology transfer agreements for machinery, equipment and implements adapted to family farming.
• To carry out an analysis of the More Food Program and its potential to enable access to mechanization/technification by family farming.
• Present the results of the studies to the CGCOI/DAMEI/SE/MDA team, and, perhaps, other bodies participating in the ACT.
• Hold face-to-face and/or virtual meetings with project oversight whenever necessary.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING:
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Agrarian Sciences or Human Sciences according to the CAPES/CNPq table of areas of knowledge;
• In case of having a Bachelor’s degree, at least of 5 (five) years of experience in public policies for family farming or in rural, regional and territorial development. In case of having specialization: 03 (three) years of experience in the requested areas. In case of having Master’s degree: 02 (two) years of experience in the requested areas and in case of having a Doctorate: 01 (one) year of experience in the requested areas.
• Working knowledge (level C) of English or Spanish and Portuguese;
• Brazilian Nationality or other legally authorized to work in Brazil.
