Responsibilities

  • Ensure alignment of strategic program development in the region with SFCG’s global and regional strategies.
  • Support COs in managing donors relations effectively and in identifying and pursuing new donor opportunities within the region.
  • Facilitate organizational learning from program implementation and enhance overall program capacity building in the region.
  • Identify and prioritize program funding opportunities and initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support for Project Cycle Management (PCM), integrated programming, and program quality enhancement in the region, including the integration of cross-cutting issues such as safe and inclusive programming, partnerships, and business development.
  • Offer contextual program analysis to inform the regional strategy, annual and tri-annual reports, and assist Country Offices in contingency planning.
  • Act as RD when needed and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Director.
  • Adhere to and comply with SFCG policies, guidance, and procedures.

Contributions

  • Provide a strategic vision for the SFCG Middle East and North Africa Programs teams, focusing on technical expertise and key areas of interest agreed with the MENA Regional Director.
  • Develop regional capacities plans and offer direct support to Country Offices in program quality and resource mobilization.
  • Assist COs in cultivating partnerships with local stakeholders using a systemic approach.
  • Support RD in conducting reviews of country presence and formulating exit/entry/scale-up strategies for contexts with reduced/increased levels of violence and conflicts.
  • Promote and support CDS in developing business development strategy aligned with addressing funding gaps in the region.
  • Implement a robust risk management framework to ensure program quality.
  • Provide support to COs in establishing and managing regional grants in accordance with donors’ specifications.
  • With support from senior specialists in program quality and global programs, ensure the development of regional program quality standards in an inclusive manner, garnering maximal support from the team at head Office, Regional Office, and Country Offices.
  • Prioritize the implementation of a capacity development strategy, in coordination with the SAT teams, aligning with the organizational updated strategy and PIR recommendations to optimize efficiency, ensuring that staff are accountable for results.
  • Engage as an active member of the Middle East and North Africa Regional Office Management Team (MMT).

Education and Experience

  • BS/BA with minimum 9 years’ experience.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Usual office environment conditions; ability to travel internationally at least 40%.

Supervisory and Budget Responsibility

  • Doesn’t have any direct reports.
