SPORT FISHERY AND STREAM SURVEYOR
SCIENTIFIC TECHNICIAN 2 (ST2)
Fish Program
Pasco, Washington – Franklin County
Season Length: 6.5 months
June 12 – December 22
This is an opportunity for valuable working knowledge and hands on field experience in fisheries.
Conduct sport fishery monitoring in the Tri-cities area for the salmon fall fishery from June to September.
Assist with stream surveys in the Hanford Reach and Yakima River from October to December.

Collect detailed information from anglers participating in salmon/steelhead sport fisheries during on-site interviews at area boat launches and shoreline fishing access areas.
This is an opportunity,
To collect critical data that is used for fishery management including harvest, impacts of sport fisheries, forecasting future returns, and to assess the health and origin of local natural and hatchery anadromous populations.

Please Note: College course work involving major study in biology, zoology, fisheries, chemistry, natural sciences, or closely allied field will substitute, year for year, for experience, provided the course work includes at least six (6) semester or nine (9) quarter hours of natural science classes.
