Background:
This internship seeks a current undergraduate or graduate student seeking to obtain work experience that aligns with his/her studies within the intersection of global development and technology and/or to fulfill requirements for an academic course or degree. The Intern will work within the ICT4D team at CRS supporting country programs across the agency and carrying out HQ level work.
Primary Function:
The Intern will support two critical functions of the ICT4D Innovation and Scale team: business development and knowledge management. Under the direction of the Business Development Specialist and the Knowledge Management & Communication Specialist, the Intern will assist in identifying business opportunities and organizing resources to strengthen CRS’s ICT4D positioning. The Intern will conduct research and analysis to identify and develop ICT4D innovation areas relevant to business development, while also supporting the organization and dissemination of key knowledge management resources. They will help create ICT4D-focused business development products, including resource guides and communication materials.
Job Responsibility:
Identify ICT4D Opportunities
• Assist in conducting a donor landscape review focused on ICT4D innovations
• Support the identification and application process for innovation grants
• Conduct daily media monitoring to track key ICT4D-related business opportunities
Develop Business Development and Knowledge Management Resources
• Help create business development materials, including case studies, presentations, and communication products
• Assist in the organization of ICT4D knowledge management resources, ensuring they are accessible
• Contribute to the writing and structuring of ICT4D and BD resource guides and toolkits
Key Working Relationships:
• Internal: Business Development Specialist, Knowledge Management and Communications Specialist, Director of Innovation and Scale, ICT4D colleagues.
• External: Not Applicable.
Qualifications:
Must Have
Excellent research and analytical skills
Excellent writing skills
Ability to work independently
Demonstrable interest in the humanitarian/international development sector
Preferred
Demonstrable competencies in visual/graphic design
Candidates from all areas of study will be considered; students majoring in international relations, history, area studies, design, or related are strongly encouraged to apply.
