Responsibilities
The Senior Database Specialist is responsible for collaborating
with Alumni, and School and College engagement personnel to assist
in project scoping and planning; fulfilling data and report
requests; analyzing, interpreting and contextualizing large data
sets to identify effective ways of boosting organizational
efficiency; providing end user support, investigating and resolving
application, transactional and data-related issues of enterprise
fundraising software, specifically Blackbaud’s CRM/BBIS, Papersave
and other associated products.
Develops ad-hoc queries and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
reports against the Blackbaud CRM data warehouse and other various
data sources (e.g., Oracle BI) in support of the Alumni
Association. Fulfills data requests for mailing lists, donor rolls,
key performance metrics, demographic trends, and giving analyses.
Create data models and design Power BI visualizations/dashboards
and test on-premises reporting with Power BI Report Server upgrade
testing. Develop industry standard dashboard metrics in
collaboration with President/CEO.
Assists in gift/data entry and review, list management, contact
updates, and retrieval for alumni, staff and student records.
Creates and updates database records, which may include but are not
limited to demographic, employment, relationship, contact and
affiliation information. Ensures the confidentiality of all
information pertaining to University prospects, donors, and
finances. Reviews, proofreads and/or analyzes data with a critical
eye for accuracy and logic.
Created and maintain inbound synchronization of data for
Eventbrite to Blackbaud CRM event module to track alumni event
engagement. Created various automated business processes (e.g.,
Alumni engagement score/membership loyalty level calculation
script/ Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), and acknowledgments).
Submits cases and serves as liaison with Blackbaud technical
support. Assist webmaster with designing web transactional forms in
BBIS.
Alumni Technical lead for Mobile UP FSUAA Alumni App/Emma-CRM
sync, created SQL queries for stored procedures/functions for CRM
application programming interface (API) sync. Tests, validates,
maintains, troubleshoots with Senior Applications Programmer. Data
Technical liaison who serves on various work groups related to data
management, hygiene. Assists in application security tasks for
on-boarding Alumni staff.
Participates in thorough testing and validation efforts of
deliverables such as reports, data lists, applications, and system
upgrades, ensuring timely and accurate results. Utilize report
design software or SQL (SSRS) for reporting. Designs, creates and
maintains security and integrity of application and
business-process related documentation. Maintain import/gift
processing batch templates. Process constituent update batches.
Collaborate with Alumni, School and College engagement personnel
to assist in project scoping and planning. Reviews technical
solution designs from a business point of view and recommends
alternatives to colleagues. Develops various reports for Alumni,
School, and College engagement staff to assist in the
decision-making process.
Maintains information in a variety of formats including network
files and digital images. Manages digital documents through
indexing, scanning, and auditing. Participates as FSUAA liaison of
the FSUAA liaison of the FSU Advancement Data Integrity Committee
(FADIC) Uses a variety of on-line resources for research and
problem-solving purposes. Uses resources to track history of the
problem area to determine cause and develop a solution to address
the current issue. Participates in Advancement Committees on data
migration.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience; or a high school
diploma/equivalent and experience equal to six years. (Note:
post-high school education can substitute for experience at the
equivalent rate.) Blackbaud’s Raisers Edge or BBCRM software
experience preferred. SQL or similar query language
required.
Detail oriented and organized with an ability to meet
deadlines.
Strong aptitude for diagnosing end user problems, identifying
and implementing solutions.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office products suite (Excel,
Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), or equivalent software.
Ability to function independently while working well in a
team-oriented environment, taking the initiative to be productive
and efficient.
Ability to maintain consistent and positive communication with
the Foundation.
Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work
assignments simultaneously and accurately in a detail-oriented
environment.
A valid Florida or Georgia Driver’s License, or the ability to
obtain.
